Growth Facilities

CONSTANT TEMPERATURE At the SABC there are several constant temperature rooms at 37°C for routine bacterial culture 28°C for fungal, insect and Agrobacterium culture, 25°C for plant tissue culture which are temperature and light controlled, as well as spacious coolrooms at 4°C and -20°C.

GLASSHOUSES A major specialist facility provided by the SABC is a purposed built glasshouse for growing transgenic plants. The transgenic glasshouse has six individual rooms and each room can be individually temperature controlled. To complement the glasshouse the Centre also has access to large, secure plots on the Murdoch University campus.
