Laboratories

The SABC has three large open plan laboratories, each can accomodate 24 full-time researchers. The labs are arranged in a six bay format, each accommodating four researchers around a central bench which holds most of the common items such as electrophoresis equipment, microfuges, balances etc.

The Department of Agriculture WA has a 16 place laboratory on level 1 with the same overall design.

To meet the demand for bench space, a 24 place teaching laboratory has been upgraded to PC2 standard, it is mainly used for proteomics research.
